• Mr. Clifton acquired the 3rd largest landfill gas project in the U.S. and oversaw the landfill through transition period and early stages of plant turnaround.
• Has invested over $45 million in 9 growth equity transactions.
• Over 10 years of experience in private equity, investment banking and project development with the past five in renewable energy.
• Former Principal with Hastings Climate Leaders Fund, a private equity fund focused on renewable energy; and with Intrinergy, a biomass project developer.
• Previously worked for Liberty Partners – a $1 billion private equity firm investing in growth equity and leveraged buyouts; and Thomas Weisel Partners and Stephens, Inc – M&A investment banking.
• Deep origination pipeline of stand-alone deals, platform acquisitions and project development companies in biomass, landfill gas, wind and solar sectors.
• Founder /Director of Young Professionals in Energy – Charlotte, NC chapter.
• Board of Directors and Executive Committee Member with Street Soccer USA, a national organization that utilizes soccer and community-based programs as vehicles to eradicate homelessness.

• Former Associate with Cherokee Investment Partners, a $2 billion private equity firm focused on the acquisition, remediation and sustainable redevelopment of brownfield properties throughout North America.
• Previously a Senior Associate at Wind Point Partners, a $2 billion private equity firm that acquires middle-market businesses across a broad range of industries.
• Worked as an investment banking analyst within the mergers & acquisitions group of First Union Securities, Inc.
• Worked with an international aid and development organization, World Relief Rwanda, to support the formation of a local agribusiness.
